Zaner Birthday Surprise!

Good Morning #MakeZaneBetter members! We are still celebrating Zane's birthday weekend, but we celebrate Zane always anyway!

I did want to share something with you guys that's pretty special. You might remember Zane's urn is made from skateboards donated by his friends (see picture attached). This was a 2-man very labor-intensive project curated by Michael Earley and Daniel Dubois.

Daniel saved quite a bit of the shavings from Zane's urn project and some special items were presented at Zane's birthday celebration on Friday. First, my Aunt Bonnie got with Daniel and had this beautiful pen made with the shavings and clear resin. You can see the drum head at the top (Zane's first instrument), the keyboard in the middle, the guitar fretboard as the clip and a musical staff and the tip. What a treasure!

And while Bonnie was working on this with Daniel, I was also working with him to have bottle openers made for my family members. We didn't know each other had these projects going on, so it was a good Zaner birthday surprise for us all! Pretty cool, huh?
