The Full Details about the New J-O-B and How I'll Be Giving Back to the Medical Community
January 14, 2022
Hi All!
We’ve made it through the work week and I survived my intense and long training days for the new J-O-B. So now I feel confident to share more about the company I’ll be working for and the job I will be doing.
I am going to work as a Trip Support Specialist with Avant Healthcare Professionals, an international recruitment/staffing firm that is working hard to fill the void of the crushing nursing shortages plaguing our nation. Avant hires skilled, experienced medical professionals from around the globe that would like to immigrate to the US and provides them with a new life here in the States. There’s a long road these Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) must travel prior to arriving here in Orlando. They must go through the complicated immigration process. They must qualify across the board for their position in their home country to ours here in the US. They must take and pass the NCLEX exam. This is generally a 2-year process.
But once all has been completed and the green light to arrive in the States has illuminated, the HCP (and sometimes family members) arrive in Orlando for a 6 to 8-week clinical and cultural immersion program where they work in a hospital learning environment in our home corporate office, take driving lessons and get their licenses, take English classes, set up banking, choose car loan options, choose housing and the list goes on. Then they are prepared to report to their client location and get settled in their new life and get to work.
That’s where I come in. I will fly from Orlando to the city/town where the HCP will begin their 3 to 5-year contract. I will help them with their car purchase, take them to sign their lease and get keys/do walk-through, arrange for furniture delivery, go grocery shopping, check out thrift stores, find points of interest, identify local parks, churches, landmarks, etc. We do a meet and greet at their hospital (or medical facility) and have a Farewell Dinner together on our last night. We spend about 4 to 5 days together and my job is to make sure they are in their new location safe and sound, with wheels, a roof, and comforts of home.
I’m looking forward to traveling to places I’ve never been, meeting a lot of new people and making new friends. These HCPs are representatives of the medical community that worked so hard to #MakeZaneBetter and I am thrilled to give back to the medical industry in this special kind of way.
And now I have my first assignment...Kingsland, Texas, see ya on the 24th through the 28th!
We are literally changing the lives of our healthcare professionals, their families and our nation’s patients and their families. #AvantHealthcare
