#LEGAStrings and #ZanesLaw Update!!!
February 5, 2022
Well, hello Zaner Friends and Family!
It's been a bit of time since we had a real #MakeZaneBetter update in terms of the work we are doing to honor Zane. So, I've got a double feature for you all today. So, let's get caught up...
First...LEGAStrings!!! I've talked about this foundation some, but we are NOW an OFFICIAL non-profit organization! Here's our mission statement:
LEGAStrings is a not for profit organization founded in honor of Zane Tyson, a young violin player who lost his battle with brain cancer in July 2021. LEGAStrings is created to foster and nurture young musicians by helping them get involved and stay involved with orchestral music in our schools by providing instruments, private lessons, scholarships and the like to school-aged musicians.
Many thanks to Molly White of Cornell Strings and Jennifer E. Goldman of Resonance, LLC with their help and input to get this step accomplished! Also, much love to our officers Marla Mo and Mary Grieder who will work with me to foster the work we will do with LEGAStrings Next, I'll finish building the website and will roll that out soon.
ANNNND...today Representative Anna Eskamani, her aide Cheyenne and I had a lunch meeting today. These power duo ladies started the introductions for me to partner up with local advocacy groups that have the goals I'd like to achieve with #ZanesLaw in mind. Representative Eskamani is allowed to bring forth 7 new bills in Tallahassee each session. We are ear-marking one of those bills to honor Zane with action on Health insurance reform. I have some specific goals, but more on that as we all start our conversations and get our bullet points aligned.
I'm very pleased with the work that's being done to honor Zane Tyson. In fact, it's all my honor! #CloudSkaterZane #HonoringZane
Here's a quick photo of Representative Anna and I after a play I saw her in last week. https://m.orlandoweekly.com/.../orlando-rep.../Content...
