Honoring the Zaner with a NEW J-O-B!

Hello and Happy 2022!!!

How about some stellar news to kick off the New Year over here at #MakeZaneBetter? Let's do it!

I'd like to announce that I have accepted a position with a US-based healthcare company with a global impact. I'm withholding the name of the company just yet until I get through training, but this company sponsors international medical professionals, guiding them through the immigration process, putting them through an intense educational curriculum and if all goes well, they are accepted into the sponsorship program. Once they've spent often years going through the process, they will make their journey to the US to the city they will be placed to work in, and that's where my job begins.

I will be called a Trip Support Specialist and I will fly to the cities to greet the RNs and medical professionals and work through a list of things to assimilate them into their new work and home environments for 4-5 days. This will be things like taking them to get their car and keys to apartment (all pre-arranged), organizing furniture delivery, stocking home with all the comforts of home, grocery shopping and exploring the city/town for points of interest conducive to the person I'm working with. We will together find their go-to grocery store, church, parks, restaurants, etc.

I'm over the moon to land this position. Anyone that knows me knows I'm a travel junkie, but that I also relish in meeting and learning from people from other countries and cultures. Also, and more important, this is my way to give back to the medical community that was so good to Zane when we were going through the worst of it. I know first-hand how we are starving in areas of the US for proper medical professionals, so this program is BRILLIANT and I'm thrilled to be able to be part of it and honor Zane in such an interesting way.

These passions are what make me perfect for this job and it seems I was able to let the hiring managers understand that in my interview process. So, training begins next week. Wish me luck!

And we are also making strides with regard to legislative policy change for hospice care. For now, I'm calling that "Zane's Law" for lack of any official name assigned to this endeavor yet. I also had a very uplifting and promising meeting last week concerning #LEGAStrings, the music foundation being developed in Zane's name, so there will be news forthcoming there.

Hitting the ground running here at #MakeZaneBetter in 2022!
