Mama Bear for the Win!

Hello! Mama Bear checking in here. We are still in hospital at Orlando Health. But not to worry! Zane is having a good day. I just thought..."Well. We're in a hospital. Let me try to push for a neuro consult and see if I can finagle out an EEG and MRI." So I did. Mama Bear for the win! I pushed for the consult yesterday and waited ALL day today. It got to be nearly 5pm and I was sure I'd been stood up with my date with Neurology.

But..then Dr. Kaleem turned up and he listened to my concerns about Zane's recent "storming" and once he heard his history, it was on like Donkey Kong. I was ready to rip my gloves off and bear claw my fight (see what I did there?) but my sweet, yet persuasive plea paid off. There is no way we could get Zane these tests sitting in a hospice bed at home.

So Zane will start his 24-hour EEG test now. Just got him all wired up for that. And tomorrow, he will have a brain and spine MRI with and without contrast. What does this mean? It means we get to compare these test results to St. Jude and Methodist hospitals' results and FIRMLY know if there has been any spread of the cancer and what brain activity we are looking at.
