Blink Twice if you Like this Post
Heyyyy! We need a positive and uplifting medical post, I think! Wouldn't you agree?
Well, let's try this then. Auntie Mary Grieder was allowed to visit Zane yesterday and Auntie Debbie Schaal will come today! Mary's assessment (which she can comment more on below) was that she was able to get Zane to "double-blink" to certain answers for her yesterday. We worked on neural stimulation of his hands and feet and got him to chew on ice chips. These are all milestones!
Also, Zane is doing so well with his trach collar that the Pulmonary team has decided to step him down on oxygen levels today in a trial and tomorrow downsize the trach tube from an 8 to a 6. From there, we continue that until we cap it off and at that point, we can see what Zane may be able to say and work with speech. I'm over the moon.Still working on the transfer to Orlando and I've let the palliative team it's not time to talk to them at all right now!
Here's Auntie Mary and Zanemeister having a chat yesterday. #MakeZaneBetter #BringZaneHome
