Back to Memphis, St. Jude and Treatment

Hello and greetings from St. Jude! We arrived back for treatment yesterday. First thing, Zane was tested for Covid-19 prior to entering the hospital. As the results weren't in straightaway, we were escorted around by staff through back entrances into areas we needed to be to avoid waiting rooms and lobbies. He had his brain MRI and then the Covid results were in (negative), so today when he had his spine MRI and spinal tap, we could move about normally.

But "normal" isn't entirely how it goes around here. Everyone (patients, caregivers, and ALL staff) wear masks. The hallways are eerily empty as only acute patients are being seen regularly at the moment.

Tomorrow, Zane will have a PET scan, but they waste absolutely NO TIME here! Word in a bit ago that Zane will go inpatient Thursday for his first post-radiation chemo round. He'll be inpatient through the weekend, most likely released Tuesday. The rounds of chemo he did back in December and January weren't as intense, so we get to stay a bit longer these days.

Meanwhile, we have it good at our friend's house (nearly empty as it's for sale) in Millington, home of an Olympic training facility. Unfortunately, we won't get to see any practices. Thanks, virus!

More after the chemo starts. Stay well, everyone and as always, #MakeZaneBetter Pics are the Olympic training facility entrance and Zane having his shunt reprogrammed and prepping for spinal tap.
