So what is Proton Radiation Therapy anyway?

Zaner Update!! Hey everyone! Here's how our warrior lad is doing. Today was his 3rd of 10 Proton Radiation Therapy treatments. These are the single beam, less scatter, easier to tolerate treatments that will focus on some specific areas of concern in Zane's brain. His last treatment of this kid is expected to be March 17th.

The Proton Therapy Suite at St. Jude is nothing short of spectacular. We took some photos of the that you can look at here and the website announcing the center's opening (the first in the world) is included at the bottom of this post. St. Jude has 3 proton therapy machines, the bundle worth about $1Million!!

The Proton Therapy Center is dedicated to hhe memory of Robin Williams and his photo with a St. Jude patient adorns the large entrance hall. Musical stairs lead down to the waiting area (see video in this post).

We've said it before, we will say it again, we will shout it from the rooftops and we can still never say it enough...we are so grateful to be here at St. Jude. Just when I think I have seen it all, I get wowed all over again.
