Good News! Treatment is Working!

You guys ready for some bloody good news? While all Zane's recent diagnostic tests aren't in and completely analyzed yet (and he's still got a spinal tap tomorrow), we did have a consultation today and we have an announcement to make!

The PET scan results show "cold" on the previous bony lesions of disease spread in his pelvic bones. What does that mean? It means the two rounds of chemo did the job and he does not have disease in the area. So, that's the first bit of good news. But, there's more!

In fiddling about with his brain shunt, we also learned on an initial look at the brain MRI, that his ventricles are shrinking. What does THAT mean? It means that his post-surgery ventricles that were swollen and over-producing spinal fluid (thus the shunt) are shrinking back to the size they are meant to be. We also learned that there has been no disease spread in his brain since our arrival. 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗡?

And why not add another layer of goodness on this double layer of good news sweetness? Mr. Pirate has left the building. He's been replaced by Mr. Four Eyes, but he's quite handsome! The eye patch is no longer. To correct the double vision, Zane is working with getting the right prism lens glasses, so he's testing some now. They aren't perfect, but a few more trips to the eye clinic and he should have the right formula and then he will be losing the walker. He even asked to go to the skate shop this weekend to get the tool necessary to put his Christmas skate gifts together. 𝗦𝗼, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗹𝘂𝗷𝗮𝗵 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻?

So, we went out and had a nice brunch at Automatic Slims to celebrate. And we were so impressed with THAT, he's now chosen his 21st birthday celebration spot for two weeks from now. We also had a waddle with the ducks at The Peabody Hotel and we played some pinball back at our building.𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗻! 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘆...𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹!
